Successful email fundraising campaigns and e-newsletters

This is the latest Metro State Alumni & Friends e-newsletter. I worked closely with the designer and IT people at Metro State's Office of College Communications to create this and build it out in html format. Our open rate increased by two percent when we launched this new format. In addition, we saw a 100 percent increase in click-throughs.
We currently utilize Blackbaud's NetCommunity Grow product to mail out our emails. Utilizing NetCommunity Grow, we are able to collect some excellent analytics. The analytics allows us to evaluate the open rates for emails, bounce rates, and click-through rates. As well, when we do campaigns, we can assess the conversion rates.

This was the second version of our e-newsletter, which I created without any assistance. The e-newsletter that the Office of Alumni Relations has used for six or seven years prior was a basic text email with no graphics or photos.

These are email "asks" that I created working closely with the Annual Fund staff. Our campaign netted more than $30,000, which will pay for scholarships for students in need. The first email we sent out included a Thanksgiving Thank You video that I edited. Click here to watch the video.
