CU considers hiring misogynist, homophobic Bill McCartney to be football coachn

Good morning David Clough, Phil DiStefano, and Mike Bohn,
I learned some very disturbing news today. Is it true that CU is considering hiring Bill McCartney as the new football coach at the University of Colorado? I think this man is a very poor role model for young people as he is not only homophobic and misogynistic, but he also doesn't hesitate to use his position of power to negatively influence the young men that he leads. I think CU would be making a terrible anti-gay statement, as well as an anti-woman statement if you hire this man. Do you honestly want to foster a climate of hate and discrimination against gays and women? This man referred to homosexuality as an "abomination against Alimighty God" in Sports Ilustrated! And he founded the Promise Keepers, an all-male evangelical Christian group that promotes the subordination of women. I can't believe you are seriously considering hiring this man. Please do not. This is scary stuff.

Hello!

Hello! It has been a few weeks since I have written. My life has changed again, pretty significantly. My job has just ramped up to a pretty huge degree, which is exciting. I'm enjoying it immensely despite the fact that I'm working overtime a lot. I think this week I will not have to work OT though, which is nice since last weekend I worked on other projects through the weekend (writing job for Alpinist and a 3.5-hour board meeting for Girls Education International).

My life is good. I am tired often and am still learning how to balance work, exercise, healthful diet, meditation and being with friends. I haven't quite got it yet. The last few days I felt wiped out from the weekend. On the other hand, despite the tiredness and not quite getting it, I'm still full of joy often (except when I get really tired).

So, life is good. Lots going on these days...

I am well. Climbing is going well also. I finally sent my project a few weeks ago. My first solid 5.12. It was lovely. Hopefully I'll have more photos to come.

Oh, I am learning how to build websites (that is another thing I do on weekends--html class). Check out my first page: www.lizzyscully.com/resume.html. It's my resume page. As of a few weeks ago, I thought my job at Metro State was long term. But it turns out that that my position is still only guaranteed through next June. Sadly, I will have to start searching for a new job this spring. I will be teaching at Metro this spring, and I will likely teach for some time there since I love working there. We shall see.

Love and hugs, Lizzy
